Websites

Here I have listed some Websites that I use in the classroom with my Early Childhood children.

Storybird.com

Storybird.com is a free web resource that allows children to create art inspired stories. The children can read, create and share story birds on the site. It is easy for teachers to create a class and monitor your students work.   Click Here

Scootle

Scootle provides teachers with 1000's of free digital resources. It also links it's resources directly to the Australian Curriculum. It can be accessed through the CNA website.   Click Here

Padlet

Formerly known as Wallwisher, Padlet is an easy site for children to add questions, ideas or websites to a common notice board. I have used it at the beginning of a unit to find out children's prior knowledge to a topic or unit of work.     Click Here

Tagxedo

Tagxedo creates 'word clouds' similar to Wordle but is then able to put them in a shape for more effective presentation. I have used Tagxedo to summarise a book using key descriptive words. Click Here

Purple Mash

Purple Mash is a creative web tool that allows the children to use their word processing, animation and many other skills to create attractive projects. We use Purple Mash with Kindy to Year 6's. Click Here.

Google Docs

Google docs creates a word processing or spreadsheet, etc that you can share with others and edit at the same time on different computers. We are looking into using it at our school to create a school scope and sequence. Each year group were able to add their descriptors instantaneously.   Click Here

Symbaloo

Symbaloo is a great site where teachers can visually organise bookmarks for children in their class. I use it so children do not have to search the web for a site, it is there for them ready to use.   Click Here

Class Dojo

Raz-Kids.com

Raz-Kids.com is an online levelled reading site for children K-6.   Click Here

Wordle

Class Dojo is a Behaviour Management Software, making it easy for teachers to monitor classroom management in their class. I have created a class profile and downloaded the app so I can add positive and negative points to the children's profile as I walk around the room.    Click Here

Wordle creates 'Word Clouds' from the text children have added. I used this site when we started the year called 'All about me'. The children wrote any words that described them and created a Wordle about themselves.   Click Here

SpiderScribe

SpiderScribe is an online mind mapping and brainstorming tool. It is an easy way to brainstorm a topic or key question.    Click Here
