iPad Applications
Here I have listed some iPad Applications that I use in the classroom with my Early Childhood children. All these applications can be found in the iTunes App Store.
Videolicious
Explain Everything
Explain Everything is an easy tool children can use to add photos, text and voice recording and then easily turn it into a short video. I have used this app for Procedure writing in the classroom. Click Here
Videolicious is a 3 step, easy way to create a video instantly. The children choose their photo or take a short video, record the story and then add music. What a great way for children report back on what they have learnt that Term! Click Here
Voice Memos
Voice Memos is a free application that comes with iPad's and iPhone's. The children in my classroom can record their reading and play it back to self assess their fluency ability. It is an excellent tool for Oral Language assessment in the early years.
My Story
My Story allows children to create ebooks with tools for drawing, photos, voice recording and writing. I have used this to assess reading by taking photos of a book and asking the children to record themselves reading. This focuses on the children's fluency skills. Click Here
Dropbox
Dropbox is a great way to save your documents in the cloud. I use it to share videos with friends that are too large for email. It is like having a USB but you don't have to worry if you leave your drive at home. It is also great to save docs from your iPad that you can then open on any desktop. Click Here
rED Writing
A great handwriting app that uses Modern Victorian Cursive. The children can write small capitals, CAPITALS or 12345. It has a modeling feature before the children start to encourage the use of correct formation by the students.
ShowMe
This records video of what you do within the app. I have used it in my class for instruction in individual groups or it could be used for the children to record themselves presented a piece of work. You are also able to access other peoples works to use in your classroom. Click Here
This application scans and reads QR codes and directs us websites, documents, notes, etc. I have created QR codes and laminated them that direct the students to websites appropriate to the age for research about certain topics. Click Here

Educreations
Very similar to ShowMe but there is not an option to use teacher galleries.
Rover/Puffin
Rover and Puffin Web Browser are fantastic apps that allow you to access Flash on your iPad. I reccommend these apps to parents who want to accesss Mathletics homework via their mobile device.
This application allows your students to write and creative creative text with different modes of support. There are stories with a few words missing, allowing children to make it there own. Or the children can choose blank pages to create a story of their own with support from the pictures available if they choose. The children have a lot of fun with this app. Click Here
Scribble Press
Aurasma
This application is a new way to see and interact with the world. Aurasma is an augmented reality app that’s changing the way millions of people see and interact with the world. Click Here
Discovr App
Discovr App allows you to add your favourite app and find apps just like it. It works like a brainstorm on your page. Click Here
Discovr Music is also available if you love music.
iMovie
This application is a great way for children to reflect on their work through film. They are being creative and expressing themselves as a form of assessment. Click Here
QR Codes
Use Qr Codes all around your classroom. Children only need this app to follow the instruction, find the website, etc. make a QR challenge for your room. Click Here
Popplet
Use Popplet as a mindmapping tool with the students in your classroom.
Book Creator
